MEET BLANCA
The daughter of a nurse and public school bus driver, both union members, Blanca Pacheco grew up in a working class community. Blanca understands the California Dream, because she and her family have lived it.
The values of strong work ethic, determination and building a better life for both family and community have been the driving forces behind Blanca’s life’s work of giving back.

Currently, Blanca represents the 64th Assembly District in the California State legislature. The first-ever Latina to serve in the position, Blanca Pacheco was the Mayor of the City of Downey, the largest city in California’s 64th State Assembly District. She was first elected to the Downey City Council in 2016 and became Mayor in 2020.

Throughout her career, Blanca Pacheco has always put people and local neighborhoods first. That’s why amid the COVID-19 pandemic, in 2020, she spearheaded a moratorium on rent for both commercial as well as residential tenants to help working people stay in their homes and to assist local small businesses, preventing countless stores from closing.

OUR UNIQUE COMMUNITIES
FIGHTING FOR
THE CALIFORNIA DREAM
FOR ALL OF US.
"While we've made significant progress over the last year, I am running for re-election to the State Assembly because the challenges facing the people of the 64th District are many and the fight to create safer, healthier and better communities for all remains my top priority.

Housing costs are too high for too many, the need for more good paying middle class jobs is a constant priority, our public schools need more resources and higher education needs to be more affordable for all. At the same time, we must continue working to prioritize public safety funding, enact tougher laws to combat gun violence, address homelessness and the climate threat, invest more in infrastructure to strengthen our economy, help local small businesses compete in an evolving global economy and we must ensure clean air and clean water for everyone in our communities. In the years ahead, I will work tirelessly to confront these issues head-on and be a bold voice for the people of the 64th District. I look forward to working hard and earning the continued support and confidence of voters across our district in the months ahead."
I AM HOPEFUL AND OPTIMISTIC ABOUT CALIFORNIA'S FUTURE,
and I know that together, we can build a stronger, fairer and more just state for all people across the 64th Assembly District.
